2018 Annual Student Showcase

June 9rd 10:00 AM, 12:00 & 2:00 PM

The rehearsals June 5th –June 8th are required. Dancers should arrive promptly and be ready to dance at their scheduled rehearsal time. Dancers should be wearing their costume and have their hair done. Parents are not able to watch the studio dress rehearsal due to space, but they will be able to watch the theatre dress rehearsal on June 8th and they may video and/or take non-flash photographs at that time. Personal video recording is not permitted at the June 9th performance. Dancers who wish to wear makeup should only wear it on June 8th & 9th. We will try our best to be on time but delays could occur.

Important Showcase Information:

  • Prepare your child in their hair, make-up and 1st costume according to the schedule
  • Make sure your child warms up and has a good meal prior to the show
  • All Dancers must arrive at Carmel High School ½ hour before the show
  • Shoes & tights are the responsibility of the dancer and are not included with the costume
  • Make-up should be glamorous. Earth tone eye shadow, black mascara, blush & red lipstick
  • Levels 1 and above, hair should be in a bun and secure. No Bangs. If the costume has a headpiece that does not wrap around the bun, it should go on the left side
  • Dancers should remove all nail polish
  • Jewelry is not to be worn. Please leave all valuables at home.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium
  • No food and drink is to be brought into the dressing rooms
  • No Flash Photography is allowed at any time. It could be hazardous to the dancers
  • Video recording and photography is allowed during the dress rehearsal ONLY.
  • Dancers will be assigned a dressing room. Parents should remain in the theatre until the show is finished. Please let your dancer know that you will drop them off and return to pick them up. We will have staff supervising the students.
  • Dancers with multiple costumes should wear a tan leotard under their costume to allow for quick changes
  • Dancers will be invited back on stage at the end of the show to take a final bow

Attendance

It is very important to attend all scheduled rehearsals in order for each child to feel comfortable in their costumes and on the stage. A missed rehearsal could result in the dancer being removed from the showcase piece. Good attendance is required to participate in the Showcase.

Photographer & Video

A professional photographer will be available at the CIAOD studio on June 5th – June 7th. An email will be sent out in May for you to sign up for an appointment. The showcase will be recorded professionally and DVD’s will be available for purchase. DVD forms are available at the studio desk.

Flowers

Flower orders will be available for purchase in the lobby on the day of the show. The proceeds from the sales will benefit the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble. Please help to support our resident company.

Shoes and Tights

All shoes and tights should be clean and free of any rips, tears, runs or stains.
